  1. Christianity began as a Second Temple Judaic sect in the mid-1st century in Judea.
  2. Paul (the biggest contributer to the New Testament) was a MURDERER. He caught, orchestrated, and fully funded the murder of Stephen. And that was just one of a great many.
  3. Most scholars say Jesus never viewed himself as creating a new religion. He was just reforming Judaism.
  4. The Early Christians practised circumcision just like other Jews.
  5. Before Marcion of Sinope, the Christian Bible as we know it did not exist. There was no known segregation between the "Old" (Jewish) and "New" (Christian) Testaments before him.
  6. 38% of Christianity is projected to live in sub-Saharan Africa by 2050.
  7. At least 20 million people died during the Taiping Rebellion in China, led by a man who claimed to be the brother of Jesus, and who attempted to impose a theocracy based on his interpretation of Christianity.
  8. Christian ham, originally a pagan tradition, was endorsed by the Catholic Church as a test of truthful conversion from Judaism.
  9. 7% to 10% of all Arabs are Christian.
  10. 16,000 African Muslims convert to Christianity every day.
  11. Nigeria has more than twice as many Protestants as Germany.
  12. More people go to church on Sunday in China than in the whole of Europe.
  13. Only half of American Christians can name the four Gospels.
  14. 1/3 of the world's population is Christian. Only 25.9% of them live in Europe.
  15. 61% of the world's Christians live in the Southern Hemisphere.
  16. In 2001, the World Christian Encyclopedia countered 33,830 different Christian denominations.

According to Google, my site loading time is EXCELLENT and has LOW estimated visitor loss due to loading time. HOWEVER I need to increase the size of "tappable" targets, which basically means increasing the font-size.

In other news, getting my office-space back is going to be a productivity-boon, so I want to get that rolling ASAP. Most of the heavy-lifting is complete and technically I could go out there now, but it is hot, and I need a fan...one of those "Wind machines" from Wal-Mart would do.

The internet's less fun when your favorite sites load slowly, isn't it?
Whether you're here for news, AMAs, or some good old-fashioned cats in business attire,
the internet's at its best when you—not internet service providers—decide what you see online.
Today, u/kn0thing and I are calling on you to be the heroes we need.
Please go to battleforthenet.com and tell the FCC that you support the open internet.

Need to generalize the scripts/code to allow for arbitrary site generation/management and then opensource everything under a license.

NYT's article is clickbait fearmongering lol anyone with half a brain knows that Javascript is AIDS most of their "tracker" sites won't operate correctly unless you have Javascript enabled by default (which most browsers do, and most users are too stupid to run Firefox with Noscript, like I do).

  1. They become their own boss, with their own agenda and their own deadlines.
  2. They put time on the calendar to get out of their comfort zone.
  3. They make a list of things they don't like about their current situation.
  4. They stop doing the same worthless things over and over again.
  5. They set lots of mini goals.
  6. They detox.
  7. They push themselves to wrap up any remaining projects.

Alright, time to get organized.

  1. Capture what you consume
  2. Eliminate the bottom 25-50%
  3. Make three substitutions this week
  4. Consume one thing actively
  5. Turn down the noise
  6. See descriptions of information as pitches for your time and attention
  7. Say no to three things this week
  8. Consider your learning style
  9. Mind the medium
  10. Question the quantity of stuff you consume

6/29/2017:

  1. Fuck Adobe.
  2. Waaaaay too many options for building cross-platform mobile/web apps.
  1. PhoneGap is now "Apache Cordova", making the top link in Google for "best mobile cross platform development framework" obsolete.
  2. Alternatives to Cordova are:

yawn

Mobile Apps (except for games) are basically dead.

Personally, I like to do shit in the terminal or in the browser, Firefox being my browser of choice. Google Chrome doesn't provide me the same level of customization and it eats up a fuckton of RAM split up across different processes. There was a time when I preferred Chrome, and even today, it is a great browser for general-purpose, out-of-the-box web browsing and development, but in the long run, I am a fan of open source technology and believe in the open web.

So, with that said, I'm getting back into webdev. I need to get dirty with JavaScript again if I want to get into hacking for reals (and also to fulfill those linkedin recommendations).

In irssi,

To add/change a key binding, such as the meta-p (in my case, esc+p) key, do the following:

/bind meta-p change_window 20

This will enable you to set keybindings for windows past window 19.
Be careful not to overwrite a keybinding that you actively use!!!

8:53pm

Oh hey, an actual use for node.js!!!

Install

npm install archive.is --save

Use

var archive = require('archive.is');
archive.save('https://www.kernel.org').then(function (result) {
    console.log(result.shortUrl);
});

Wow setting up node.js is a total pain in the fucking ASS!

9:15pm

So much for using archive.is to automate site scraping and backups, blah!

9:24pm

evildojo.com/mirrors

You want to do the same? Check it out:

In linux (such as debian, etc), at the terminal:

$ sudo apt-get install httrack
$ httrack [url]

This works best for static websites currently, and will archive basically every available page that it can scrape.

A move individual-page approach is using wget -p:

$ wget -p [url]

This process can easily be scripted.

for url in \`cat urls.txt\`; do wget -p $url; done

This enables one to merely aggregate urls into a textfile before executing the backup one-liner.

This is EXTREMELY USEFUL for automating website scraping in case you're afraid THE MAN (tm) is gonna take a page or website offline (you know, in case anyone gets any funny ideas)...

I'm taking the rest of the night off. Gonna play some Hearthstone. It has been a LONG day, to say the least.

Some notes:

  1. CNN refers to their opponents as "conservative media".
  2. CNN refers to the Seth Rich story as a "conservative conspiracy theory".
  3. Rather than actually engage the story, it is dismissed as "not-making sense" and being "scattered" when it is "laid all out".
  4. The murder remains unsolved.
  5. There is no evidence that Seth Rich was murdered as the result of a "botched robbery".
  6. The mainstream media is attempting to spin the DNC leak as a "Russian Hack".
  7. CNN implies that crowdsourced information comes from "dark corners" of the Internet.
  8. Rod Wheeler supposedly signed a document stating he would not investigate Seth Rich and Wikileaks, then broke that document by talking on TV.
  9. There are different leaks being dealt with that are frequently lumped together:
    1. DNC Primary leak
    2. Clinton Foundation leak
    3. John Podesta leak
  10. Brad Bouman is supposedly crisis-management for the Seth Rich family via the DNC.
  11. CNN treats its viewers like children incapable of coming to their own conclusions.
  12. CNN is inadvertantly lifting the veil on the Clinton Kill Count via Vince Foster.
